Rooster Rock
The Rooster Rock Live Webcam, hosted by pdxgreen is a great resource for those looking to catch some wind without driving too far out of portland. A great spot for East winds that can be very strong. There can be a swift
current, especially in fall and winter. Stray too
far from the launch site and you may find
yourself at a popular nude beach. Located at Exit 25 of I-84. There is a $5/day Fee or $30 season pass. Amenities include: Picnic tables, boat ramp, sandy
beach, flush toilets.
Stevenson Wind Cams
Stevenson is home to a few popular launch spots including two web cams, one Bobs Beach and another at East Point Kite Beach.
Bobs Beach Cam
Great for Wingers and Windsurfers. Don't try to launch a kite here. Popular for east and west winds. Short walk
to town. Located on the West end of the water front. There is currently no fee. Amenities include: Changing rooms, grassy rigging, and
flush toilets.
East Point Kite Beach Cam
Located Further east from Bob's Beach, This Launch site is a go to for Kiters but be prepared for a challenging launch. There is a grassy lawn for rigging and a narrow launch space. Beginners should avoid this launch area. Amenities include: : Picnic tables, flush toilets, and
changing rooms.
Hood River Well's Island Cam
Located on the cliffs of west of White Salmon, this is a great Wing Cam for those looking to launch from the Hood River Hook, Luhr Jensen Beach Park, the Event Site and The Hatchery. The Hood River Wells Island Cam gives a sprawling view of current water and wind conditions in the Columbia Gorge.
Hood River Event Site Cam
Located on the waterfront this Kite Cam gives a great view of current water conditions at the Event Site and Luhr Jensen Park. This in tandem with the Wells island Cam will be more than enough info to make your water sports decisions.
